About the Run LA 10 Miler

The course runs through Griffith Park, a large historic park in Los Angeles. The terrain is typical of a park route, with trails and paths winding through open green space. Several distance options are offered, from a shorter run to a longer stretch, so people show up at different levels of ambition and the start area reflects that mix.

Strollers are welcome on the shortest course. Dogs are not permitted on any of the courses. Portable restrooms are available at the start and finish, and the park itself has restrooms along the way. Water stations are placed throughout each course.

Finish-Time Stats

Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

Common Questions About the Run LA 10 Miler

Will I finish last at the Run LA 10 Miler?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 35:10, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:37:47, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run LA 10 Miler a good first 5K?

A field of 253 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run LA 10 Miler?

The 5K winner ran 17:15 while the median finisher took 35:10. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.

Where can I train for the Run LA 10 Miler?

Join a local run club. DTLA Running, Venice Run Club, Los Angeles Running Club and others in Los Angeles welcome runners of all paces, and a weekly group run is the most reliable way to hold a training block together.
