About the Rosehill Cemetery 'Crypt' 5K Run/Walk
The course runs through Rosehill Cemetery on Chicago's north side, a sprawling Victorian-era burial ground with winding paths, towering monuments, and elaborate mausoleums. The grounds are flat and heavily treed, and the scenery is genuinely unlike anything on a typical race circuit. Mayors, business legends, and Civil War veterans are buried along the route, which gives the whole morning an odd, quiet weight.
After the race, a nearby bar and restaurant hosts the post-run gathering, so there is a real finish-line destination beyond the cemetery gates.
