About the RMRR November 5k/15k
The course runs through Prairie Gateway Open Space Park on mostly crushed gravel, which makes for a firm but forgiving surface underfoot. The shorter route stays within the park boundaries, while the longer one pushes out briefly onto pavement before coming back. The terrain is open and relatively flat, with the kind of wide sky you get on the eastern edge of Denver.
The race uses a handicap start, with slower runners heading out first and faster ones following in waves across the morning, so the field tends to compress toward the finish. Plan to arrive well before the start to pick up your bib and sort out registration at the pavilion. Parking is along the road near that same pavilion, off Gateway Road north of the Quebec intersection.
