The course runs inside Washington Park on the paved interior road, tracing a couple of counter-clockwise laps that start and finish along the diagonal road. The handicap system here staggers runners from slowest to fastest across the field, so the race is genuinely competitive in a way that puts everyone in contention rather than just the front runners.
Street parking is along the park's eastern edge, near the Mississippi and Franklin intersection. Plan to arrive well before the start to pick up your bib and get warm.
