About the Pumpkinfest Run South Lyon
The course runs on grass at Island Lake State Recreation Area, along the shores of Kent Lake. It follows the same cross country layout that local high school teams have trained and competed on for decades, so the terrain is well-worn and the route is clearly marked with painted lines and plenty of marshals to keep you on track.
After the race, participants get tickets to the Pumpkinfest Festival, which is held nearby at an elementary school in South Lyon. The festival runs separately from the race itself, so you can head over on your own time once you are done.
