About the Night of the Running Dead 5K, 10K, 1 Miler, Half Marathon
The course runs along a beach path in Long Beach after dark, decorated with lights and what the organizers describe as undead energy. It is flat road the whole way, and the setup leans hard into the Halloween-in-summer theme: costumes are encouraged, there is a DJ on course, and the atmosphere feels more like a costumed night out than a typical road race. A costume contest runs alongside the racing.
Race-day check-in opens in the afternoon, well before the first wave goes off, so there is time to sort out your zombie makeup. Photos are included and available without an upsell. A post-race DJ keeps things going after you finish.
