About the Monte Vista Historical Association 5K Fun Run & Walk
The course winds through one of the larger historic districts in the state, past homes built across several decades in the early twentieth century. Architectural styles shift block to block, which gives the route something to look at the whole way. Dogs and strollers are welcome, and awards go to the first across the line in each, alongside the usual age categories.
The race starts and finishes at Landa Library, and the grounds stay busy afterward with a holiday market, food trucks, and live music running well into the afternoon. Kids activities are part of the post-race scene too, so it is worth hanging around if you have family in tow.
