About the Monster Dash 5K for ALS
The course runs through Virginia Lake Park, a calm, tree-lined setting that keeps things scenic without much technical challenge. The race has a Halloween costume theme, and dogs are welcome on the course, so expect a lot of creative outfits on both runners and their leashed companions. Costume awards go to the best human and best dog looks.
The event is a fundraiser for ALS of Nevada, so the crowd leans toward people who are there for the cause as much as the clock. Check-in opens before the start, and the park offers a straightforward place to meet up, warm up, and find each other after you finish.
