About the Miles for Miracles 5k
This one runs at sunset, so the light is low and golden for most of the course. The route is a road race on a promenade, which keeps the footing smooth and the surroundings open. The race benefits cancer-related causes, so there is a personal weight to the crowd that you notice without anyone having to announce it.
Registration and packet pickup are both on the promenade, so you do not have to go far before the start. Afterward, local restaurants and vendors set up near the finish, and there is music while the awards go out to the top finishers. It runs well into the evening, so no need to rush off.
