About the Miles for Marv: A Memorial 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run
This race is a memorial to Marvin Jarman, a man who spent decades on the sidelines at J.H. Rose High School athletic events and became one of the most recognized faces in Greenville. The course offers both a road race and a shorter walk, and the event raises money toward a scholarship given to a J.H. Rose student who shows the same character and community spirit Marvin was known for.
The race starts and finishes near Stallings Stadium at Elm Street Park, where a plaque honoring Marvin hangs at the entrance. Awards go to top finishers by age group in the main race, and there is a separate ruck division as well.
