About the Merry Miles- 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon
The course runs along Ocean Boulevard on the coast of Long Beach, flat and fast underfoot on road. Costumes are encouraged, and most people show up in something festive. There is a photo station along the route and more at the finish. A DJ keeps holiday music going through the morning, and hot cocoa and holiday treats are set out at the finish area.
Bib pickup opens early morning at the Race Ready Athletics tent on site, so there is no need to pick up the night before. The race supports the Long Beach Animal Shelter, and there is a donation wish list posted at check-in if you want to bring something for the animals. Parking is available in the beach lot nearby, with street parking as an alternative.

The Merry Miles- 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon has been held every year since at least 2024. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
