About the Mardi Gras Madness - San Antonio
The race runs through Pearsall Park dressed up in full Mardi Gras fashion. Aid stations double as block parties, with volunteers tossing out purple, green, and gold beads as you pass through. A costume contest kicks things off at the start line, with the crowd cheering to crown the winner. The whole course is meant to feel more like a second line parade than a footrace.
After you finish, a DJ keeps the party going at the Race Rally Tent, announcing finishers and spinning music through the awards ceremony. Packet pickup happens the morning of the race before the start, so there is no need to come out the day before.
