About the Mardi Gras 10K/5K
The race is set in Metairie and timed to kick off the Mardi Gras season, so the atmosphere around the start line leans more carnival than typical road race. Costumes are common, a kids' run shares the morning, and a parade wraps the day. The course runs through the Veterans Memorial Boulevard corridor, a flat stretch of suburban road familiar to locals.
Packet pickup is strongly encouraged the evening before at a New Balance store on Veterans Memorial Boulevard, where participants also get a discount on in-store purchases. Race-morning pickup opens early at Veterans Memorial Square Park, which sits across from Lakeside Shopping Center at North Causeway Boulevard. King cake and beer are at the finish, and the Family Gras festival opens to runners after the race.

The Mardi Gras 10K/5K has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 23, 2026.
