About the Love for Luca 5K Run/Walk
The race starts and finishes at Middletown North High School and is run in memory of Luca Iacono, a local boy who loved football and sports before he died of a rare childhood cancer. Proceeds go to Infinite Love for Kids Fighting Cancer, which funds pediatric cancer research and supports families going through treatment.
Several sponsor tents set up on the field before and after the race, with stretching available from a local orthopedics group. Bagels, produce, and other refreshments are on hand at the finish. Packet pickup is available race morning at the high school, or the day before at a running store in Shrewsbury.
