About the 9/11 Memorial 5K and Kids' Run
The course starts at the Middletown Train Station and runs out along Middletown-Lincroft Road to Thompson Middle School, then back the same way. It is a flat, straight out-and-back on a road corridor, USATF-certified and chip-timed. The race is organized by the local police union as a memorial to Middletown residents lost on that day, and first responders are encouraged to run together in formation.
Bib pickup runs the evening before the race at the train station, on the anniversary itself. Race-morning registration and pickup open early, well before the start. The kids' run follows the main race, with the awards ceremony wrapping up shortly after.
