The course runs off-road through the working pastures of Hopkins Farm Creamery, the same place known for its ice cream. You pass hay bales, a barn, a covered bridge, and loop around a pond before coming back to where you started. It is a genuinely unusual surface for a road race, and the farm setting does most of the talking.

The start area is at the creamery itself, with race-morning registration available for those who skip the advance signup. A children's fun run goes off just before the main event, so the start line has a mix of ages and energy early on.
