About the 3RD WALK 4 PROSTATE CANCER "1 MILE WALK & 5K RUN/WALK"
The course runs out and back through Cape Henlopen State Park, starting from the main beach parking lot on the north side. The terrain is flat the whole way, with the park around you rather than roads or pavement. It is a benefit race for prostate cancer research, hosted by a local meteorologist who is himself a survivor, which gives the morning a specific purpose.
Race-day registration opens well before the start. Awards go deep into age groups, and the ceremony happens shortly after the last finisher crosses. If you miss it, the organizers will hold your award for local pickup or ship it out.
