Kappa Delta's Run Dahlonega 5K

Dahlonega, GA

Opens Jan 1, 2027Annual since at least 2014

About the Kappa Delta's Run Dahlonega 5K

The course runs through historical downtown Dahlonega and over rolling terrain, starting and finishing on the university drill field in front of a campus memorial hall. It is a road race with real hills, not a flat loop, and the downtown stretch gives it some character beyond a standard campus out-and-back.

Race-morning packet pickup opens at the campus recreation center before the start, so there is no need to sort things out the day before. The race benefits child advocacy organizations, and age group awards go deep into the field across a wide range of brackets.

Common Questions About the Kappa Delta's Run Dahlonega 5K

Will I finish last at the Kappa Delta's Run Dahlonega 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:02, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:05:46, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Kappa Delta's Run Dahlonega 5K a good first 5K?

How competitive is the Kappa Delta's Run Dahlonega 5K?

The 5K winner ran 19:22 while the median finisher took 36:02. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
