About the IRIS Run for Refugees
The course runs through the East Rock neighborhood, and the terrain is flat the whole way. It is the kind of morning that draws people who care about the cause as much as the clock, with a virtual option for those who cannot make it out in person.
The race is tied to IRIS, an organization that works with refugees and immigrants on housing, jobs, healthcare, and education. That context is present throughout the morning, and some runners come specifically because of it rather than for the course itself.
