About the 99.1 PLR *Shamrock and Roll 5K*
The course is flat, starting and finishing right in front of Toad's Place, a well-known rock and roll venue in New Haven. You end where you began, so there is no shuttle or car shuffle afterward. The race benefits a local diaper bank, and the organizers collect donations and diaper drop-offs at pickup and on race morning.
After the race, the party moves inside Toad's Place. There is live music, food, drinks, a costume contest, and an awards ceremony. The St. Patrick's Day theme carries through the whole morning, and the venue gives the post-race scene a different feel than a typical park pavilion.
