About the Illinois State Fair Parade Run
The Illinois State Fair Parade Run takes place on the fairgrounds in Springfield, which gives it a setting unlike most road races. You are running through the grounds of the state fair itself, with all the texture and activity that brings. A virtual option lets people run the same distance on their own route if they cannot make it in person.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Springfield Running Center, a local running shop on the west side of the city. Picking up there also gets you a free admission ticket to the fairgrounds. If you wait until race day, you will need to pay your own way in at the gate.
