About the Hollywood Sign Run
The courses run out and back through Griffith Park on a mix of trail and asphalt, heading up toward the Hollywood Sign viewpoint. The longer distance gets you closest to the sign itself, with open views of the Griffith Observatory and downtown spread out below. Trail shoes are worth wearing; there is real climbing involved, and the descents are steep enough to notice.
The start and finish area sits near the Old Zoo, on a fire road that also serves as the staging ground for gear check and packet pickup on race morning. Parking nearby is limited, so carpooling or a rideshare is the practical move. Fruit and snacks are set up at the finish.
