About the HBCU Run & Brunch
The HBCU Run & Brunch is rooted in Chicago's far South Side and built around HBCU and PBI alumni, students, and Divine Nine members, though anyone can run it. Several distance options mean you can race hard or take it easy. The Hillman Recreation Foundation organizes it, and the brunch after is as much of a draw as the miles.
The post-race brunch is part of the plan, not an afterthought, so factor that into your morning. The race pulls a crowd that shows up dressed to represent their schools, which gives the start line a different energy than most local road races.
