About the 2026 Golden Helix 5k
The course runs on open roads around a university campus. It is a road race, professionally timed, with the route looping through the grounds rather than heading out into the surrounding city. The organizers are student science clubs, and the entry fees go toward those clubs and a local medical clinic.
Campus parking is free on weekends, and the area behind the STEM Center and along Stadium Drive is the closest to the start. Packet pickup requires a student ID for anyone racing on a student fee waiver.
