About the Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K San Antonio

The race runs through McAllister Park, a wooded San Antonio park with paved and natural-surface paths through Texas greenbelt. The course is tree-lined and relatively gentle, with separate distance options for adults and a short dash for younger kids. A DJ keeps things moving at the start and finish area throughout the morning.

There is a costume contest at the finish, and holiday cookies and milk are set out after you cross. Aid stations are positioned along the course. The finish area has a rally tent with snacks and announcements, and award winners are called out individually.

Common Questions About the Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K San Antonio

Will I finish last at the Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K San Antonio?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.11 Miles field finished slower than 38:16, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:21:04, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K San Antonio a good first 3.11 Miles?

A field of 280 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.11 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K San Antonio?

The 3.11 Miles winner ran 20:24 while the median finisher took 38:16. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.

Where can I train for the Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K San Antonio?
