About the 16th Annual Freedas Run: 5K Run/Walk

The course runs through McAllister Park, a large wooded park on the north side of San Antonio. The terrain is park paths, mostly shaded, which keeps things comfortable even in the morning heat. A costume contest runs alongside the race, with the theme built around the event's namesake, so expect some creative outfits at the start line.

The race finishes with a Fiesta-style post-race gathering at the park pavilion. The park has multiple pavilions and open space, so arriving a little early to find the right one is worth doing.
