About the Fog Run
The course runs along Lake Ming, with mountain views on one side and the water on the other. The terrain is scenic but not technical, and the open setting means you can see other runners well ahead and behind you. It benefits a local nonprofit that supports at-risk youth in Kern County, so there is a clear purpose behind the entry fee.
Packet pickup runs on the two evenings before the race at a couple of locations around Bakersfield, including the county probation department and a local fitness studio. Race-morning pickup is also available at Lake Ming before the start. Rain does not cancel it.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2026 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Fog Run has been held every year since at least 2020. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Sep 10, 2026.
