The race runs out of Yokuts Park, a green stretch in Bakersfield with enough room for the kids' races that happen alongside the main events. The Día de los Muertos theme gives the morning a distinct personality that goes beyond most local road races, and the park setting keeps everything contained and easy to navigate.
Packet pickup and race-morning registration both happen at the park before the half marathon goes off, so there is no separate trip the day before.
