About the Family Promise 5K and Family Fun Day
The race is held at Bellevue State Park and benefits a local organization focused on ending family homelessness. The course is open to runners and walkers, and the event draws a crowd that is there as much for the cause as the clock. After the run, the park fills out with food trucks, games, crafts, and activities.
The post-race gathering is a full afternoon of it, not just a finish-line table. Food trucks and lawn activities keep things going well past the last finisher, so there is reason to linger rather than head straight to the car.
