About the Erie Marathon
The course runs through Presque Isle State Park, on a peninsula that keeps the terrain almost entirely flat. The surface mixes asphalt and concrete, though a grass shoulder runs alongside much of the route if you want softer footing. Stretches of shade break up the open sections, and the surroundings are park land the whole way. It qualifies for Boston.
Parking is at Waldameer Park, and from there everyone walks down the hill to the Beach pavilion where the race starts and finishes. Spectators need to stay off the roadways inside the park, and there are no food vendors on site, so anyone coming to watch should bring what they need. Aid stations are spread along the course and have portable restrooms nearby.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
