About the Erie Humane Society Trails & Tails 5K Run

The course runs through Harborcreek Community Park, which means wooded trails rather than pavement. Dogs are welcome on leash, and a good portion of the field shows up with one. The race benefits a shelter program that places animals in homes, so the crowd skews toward people who take that seriously. Expect muddy shoes if it has rained.

Packet pickup runs for a couple of evenings at the Erie Humane Society before race day, which makes the morning start area calmer than most. The park is the place to find on race morning, not the shelter.
