About the Empowering Children 5K, 1 Mile, and Beach Clean-Up
The course runs along Hollywood Beach, starting at Charnow Park. It stays flat and close to the water, so you get ocean air the whole way. Chip timing tracks everyone, and age group awards go several places deep. After the race, the morning continues on the sand with a beach cleanup organized by Heal the Planet, the local nonprofit the event benefits.
Charnow Park sits right on the beach, so the start area is easy to find. The cleanup happens immediately after, on the same stretch of beach, so there is no need to go anywhere.
