About the Emerald City Open
The course runs a loop through Upper Woodland Park, repeating it several times depending on the distance. The terrain is grass, the surroundings are park, and the shape of the race is simple enough that you know exactly where you are each time around. It draws both collegiate and post-collegiate teams, so the competition tends to be earnest.
Packet pickup is at the tent by the start and finish on race day, and registration is also available that morning. You declare your team at pickup and scratch any runners who are not competing. The start line sits in a grassy clearing inside the park.
