About the Peaks and Professors 5k
The course loops through the University of Washington campus, beginning and ending at Red Square, the broad open plaza at the heart of campus. The route is paved and familiar to anyone who has walked between buildings there, with academic architecture and open quads on all sides. It reads more like a campus tour on foot than a trail race.
Packet pickup opens in Red Square on race morning, so there is no separate trip the day before. After the race, the party stays in Red Square, with live music and snacks. The event is put on by a student outdoor organization that uses the proceeds to fund hiking and wilderness programs for students.
