The course runs out and back along the Rockaway Beach boardwalk, right at the edge of the Atlantic. It is flat the whole way, with open ocean on one side and sea air coming off the water. The race supports awareness for the Dyspraxia and DCD community, so the field tends to draw people connected to that cause alongside runners looking for a late-season beach route.
