About the 34th Annual Lynchburg Pediatrics Children's Run
This is a youth race held at Riverside Park, winding through its historic grounds on courses that roll gently and are closed to traffic on race day. Different distances are matched to different age groups, so younger children run shorter routes and older kids run longer ones. The race honors a pediatrician who championed active, healthy childhoods, and hand-carved trophies go to top finishers.
The park itself is closed to cars during the event, so street parking along Rivermont Avenue is where you will want to leave your vehicle. Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local running store on Rivermont Avenue, with a second window on race morning at the park before the start. Finishers get a cookie at the end.
