About the Downtown Diamond Dash 5k
The course starts at a minor league baseball stadium, heads out through downtown Asheville, and comes back to finish on the warning track of the baseball field. That finish is genuinely unusual: you cross the line on the same dirt the players use, at field level, inside the ballpark. The course is USATF certified, so the distance is measured to national standards.
Check-in opens on race morning before the gun, with a packet pickup option the day before being worked out separately. The start area is the ballpark itself, which gives you a concrete place to gather and some atmosphere before the race begins.
