About the Pink Platoon 5k
The course runs through the grounds of the Charles George VA Medical Center, an active hospital campus, so marshals and staff guide you the whole way. Expect uneven surfaces, curbs, and pavement changes as the route winds around the facility. It is a breast cancer awareness race, and pink attire, tutus included, is very much part of the atmosphere.
Race-morning packet pickup opens right before the start, and parking is in the visitor lot just past the main entrance on the left. A resource fair runs alongside the event, with VA and community wellness tables available through late morning. The course has a hydration station along the route, and pets are not permitted on the course.
