About the District 3 5K Health+Wellness Event
The course starts at a trailhead beside Stinson Airport, so you get open sky and the flat, open character of that part of San Antonio. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome, and the field tends to reflect the neighborhood, people out for a morning walk as much as anyone racing. There is a shorter walk option for kids and seniors alongside the main distance.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the District 3 Field Office, a few miles from the start. The organizers encourage picking up then rather than on race morning, and the opening ceremony at the trailhead gives the day a bit of a neighborhood-gathering feel before the race begins.
