About the Dash for the Derby 5K
The race starts and finishes at Marathon Sports on Marginal Way, so the store is the hub for the whole morning. The course runs through that part of Portland, and the field is competitive enough that cash prizes go to the overall winners, with age group and team awards as well.
Packet pickup and race-morning registration both happen at the store before the start. There is a park and ride nearby on Marginal Way, and runners are asked to leave the store's own lot open for regular customers. Post-race refreshments and an awards ceremony follow immediately at the same spot.
