About the Daniel Island Turkey Trot
The course runs the trails on Daniel Island, starting and finishing at a gravel parking lot. It is a there-and-back-to-where-you-started shape, so the finish line is familiar ground. The trails keep things soft underfoot, and the route is short enough that most people are done before the morning gets away from them.
The start area is a gravel lot, which gives plenty of room to spread out before things get moving. Afterward, the gathering moves to a nearby restaurant for a post-run social. There is also a food drive tied to the event, with a local nonprofit's needs list circulating ahead of time.
