About the Catch the Leprechaun 5K
The course runs out along a boulevard, turns onto a trail, and comes straight back. It is flat pavement the whole way, fast and open, with no real surprises underfoot. A leprechaun character runs the course and hands out shenanigans, and anyone who beats him to the finish earns a small prize. Green and Irish costumes are common, and there are awards for the best-dressed.
Packet pickup is the evening before at a local running store in Carolina Park, with a short race-morning window as well. The race starts and finishes at that same store. Post-race food and drinks are provided on site.
