About the City Park Classic (5k/10k & 1 Mile Walk of Hope)
The course runs through City Park on concrete sidewalks and park roads, starting and finishing at the pavilion near the east side of Denver. The route is flat park terrain, and the longer distance option repeats the shorter loop. Snow or melt is possible this time of year, so trail shoes or yaktraks may be worth considering depending on the forecast.
Parking inside the park is closed on race day, but street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods and lots near the zoo are a short walk to the start. Packet pickup is available in advance, and the organizers allow friends to pick up for each other. The expo opens early on race morning as a backup.
