About This Club

This is a casual, free social running group based at Green Lake in Seattle, running since 2010. They meet multiple days a week, mixing early mornings and evenings, and the whole point is running with people at whatever pace you show up at. It suits people who want a regular running habit and some company, not a training program.

Who It Suits

Good fit if you're a beginner, want company at whatever pace you run, or like the idea of coffee or food with the group afterward at spots like PCC or a burger place. Not the right group if you're training for a specific race time, want trail miles, or are building up to very long distances, the record is clear this isn't that.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Routes stick to the Green Lake loop and nearby paved paths and roads, flat the whole way, with options from 2.8 miles up to 6 miles depending on the day. Pace is genuinely mixed, the group describes it as all paces with running buddies for everyone, so you're not locked into one speed. Expect flat, easy-underfoot terrain rather than trails or hills.

Your First Run

Show up at the Green Lake loop and look for the group gathering at a Starbucks or running store front, that's the usual meeting spot. If you're coming to an early one, get there a bit before start time, like 5:20am for the Wednesday 5:30am run, since there's a quick intro before heading out.

Check Meetup or Facebook beforehand since exact location and time can shift. Once you're there, you pick your own pace and pair up with a buddy running similar speed, walkers are welcome too, so nobody's worried about holding the group back.
