About This Club

Running Wylder is a woman-owned running lifestyle store in Noe Valley that doubles as a genuine community hub. They host free group runs on Sundays and select Thursdays, starting and ending right at the shop on Castro Street. If you are new to running, coming back after a break, or just want a low-pressure reason to get out the door, this is built for you.

Who It Suits

This suits beginners, walkers, people easing back into a routine, and anyone who wants the social side of a run without a competitive undercurrent. If you are training for a race and need tempo work or longer mileage, you will want to supplement this with something else, because 3 easy miles is what it is.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Routes head out from 1354 Castro St and cover around 3 miles on flat-ish urban streets, so nothing technical underfoot. They describe the pace as easy and social, and the vibe as a choose-your-own-adventure, meaning you are not chasing anyone and you will not be chased. Walkers are explicitly welcome, and they say the runs are set up to support newbies and people returning to running.

Your First Run

Show up to 1354 Castro St in Noe Valley, Sunday at 10 a.m. or on the first or third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. You do not need to register or pay anything in advance.

Because the run starts from an actual store, there is a natural place to hang around, ask a question, and not feel like you are just standing alone on a sidewalk waiting for strangers. Three miles at a social pace is genuinely manageable if you have been away from running for a while, and if you need to walk stretches of it, that is the point.
