About This Club

City Beer Runs organizes ticketed fun runs that start and end at San Francisco breweries, six times a year, rotating through neighborhoods like Mission Bay, Bernal Heights, and Pier 70.

You pick a 5K or 10K, run a supported city-streets route, and then hang out at the brewery with a complimentary beer and a shot at the raffle. It suits people who want a reason to explore a neighborhood on foot and a cold drink waiting at the finish.

Who It Suits

If you want a timed, structured training run with pace groups, this is not that, and they are not trying to be. It is a good fit if you want a low-pressure reason to run, you enjoy craft beer, or you just want to see a San Francisco neighborhood from street level with other people doing the same thing.

What a Run With Them Is Like

The routes are on city streets, so expect pavement, some hills depending on the neighborhood, and real San Francisco scenery rather than a track or a park loop. There are no pace requirements and no timing, and they say participants can run, walk, skip, dance, or crawl, so the vibe is genuinely conversational rather than competitive. You choose your distance, 5K or 10K, when you sign up.

Your First Run

Each event is hosted at a different brewery, so check which one is running that day before you head out. Most events kick off at 11:00 AM, but the Fort Point Beer Co. and Laughing Monk Brewing events start at 11:30 AM, so double-check your specific date.

You do not need to know anyone, and because the pace is social from the start, walking up alone and falling into conversation is pretty normal here. The post-run beer and raffle give everyone a reason to stick around, which takes the awkwardness out of the finish.
