About the YOUNGSTOWN ULTRA TRAIL CLASSIC
The course runs through Mill Creek Park, a large urban park south of Youngstown built around three lakes and a meandering stream with waterfalls. The trail is mostly single-track, rugged underfoot with exposed rock, tangled roots, and punchy climbs, plus a stream crossing and a boardwalk section that stretches along a gorge. Road surface barely appears. Some stretches pass through remote, seldom-traveled corners of the park.
Packet pickup happens race morning in the parking lot near the start area at the Wick Recreation Area. The start and finish are at the same spot, uphill at the Bresko Pavilion. Flush toilets and portable restrooms are both available on-site. The park stays open to the public during the race, so expect other visitors on the trail.
