About the Yates-Astro Resolution Race and Trail Run

The course winds through a large private academy campus that is not open to the public on ordinary days. You pass cattle pastures, marsh edges, a working farm, an organic garden, and tree-lined paths, with goats and chickens visible along the way. The terrain is natural trail, uneven enough to keep you paying attention.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at a local running store, with race-morning pickup available on campus as well. After you finish, there is a pancake breakfast on site. The campus setting is the draw here, and that breakfast keeps people from heading straight to their cars.

Common Questions About the Yates-Astro Resolution Race and Trail Run

Will I finish last at the Yates-Astro Resolution Race and Trail Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 35:30, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:14:37, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Yates-Astro Resolution Race and Trail Run a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 259 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Yates-Astro Resolution Race and Trail Run?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 20:24 while the median finisher took 35:30. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
