About the Winter Thorn Trail Race
The course runs the full length of Findley State Park's mountain bike trail, a single-track loop of technical, rooty terrain that takes you through the park in its quietest season. The terrain keeps you honest, and the surroundings are worth it: bare trees, cold air, and trail underfoot that most people only see in summer.
Packet pickup opens race morning at the beach parking area, which also serves as the start and finish. An early start option is available for those who want extra time on the trail. A local scout troop cooks pancakes and sausage at the finish line, and there is a midway aid station near the campsite roughly halfway through the loop.
