About the Wicked Fast 5K & 10K

The course runs along Tacoma's waterfront on a flat road route, turning around at a large octopus mural on the Water Walk before heading back to Dune Peninsula Park. A sculpture of a giant spice worm marks the finish area, which gives the whole thing an appropriately strange, Halloween-ready backdrop. Costumes are encouraged, and there is a prize for it.

The shorter kids' run starts and finishes at the same spot as the main races and loops through the park. Post-race, you are already at the waterfront, which makes for a decent place to linger while the costume contest sorts itself out.
